Best Western Canal Winchester Inn - Columbus South East

This is a new direct bill hotel for our company. First time we ever stayed there and everything was great. Bed was actually super comfy! I slept like 12-3 hours. Breakfast kind of needed restocked but it was ok. They had little packs of donuts which was pretty cool. Literally no hotel I’ve ever stayed at has had those. Not that I needed them but was a nice little treat. Pool looked nice but we weren’t there that long.

I stayed for ONE night at this hotel and the OLD white lady at the front desk was VERY nasty and RACIST. If you look through the reviews, there’s already been so many complaints on this woman and the establishment has yet to do anything about it. The older Caucasian woman refused to give back a $150 deposit because she ASSUMED we smoked in the room and WE NEVER ONCE SMOKED IN THE ROOM. She then proceeded to lie and say the sheriff found weed in our room, and then she said the room smelled of weed which was ANOTHER LIE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WEED IN THE ROOM, and then finally turned around and said we smelled like weed when we came to the front desk. She said so many different things at once which didn’t quite make sense to me, she didn’t even have her lies straight. But even if we did smell like cigarettes or weed, we did not smoke on the premises!. She was downright rude and nasty and very dismissive, she even hung up in my face several times so I then proceeded to go up to the hotel myself and speak to her, but as soon as I got there she had the police waiting for me. I will be making a very serious call to corporate about this, she was very racist and prejudice towards people of color. We did NOT smoke in our room and she literally had no proof of us doing anything but still refused to give us back our deposit. I will NOT be letting this go until it’s settled. Oh, and she also trespassed me for no reason, and this isn’t the first complaint I’ve heard about this racist woman. She needs to be dealt with immediately.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. The lady at the front desk had me sign a paper that clearly stated “if I wanted unregistered guest to swim I could pay a $10 fee per person”. She then proceeded to tell me their policy changed. So, I asked why she had me sign it if it changed, and no answer. The proceeds to say that she had been watching my family and I closely on the cameras. When I informed her that we would not be staying after only being there for 3 hours because of the service, she tells me that she cannot issue a refund, and wanted to argue with me about it. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! Do not recommend

Me and a friend were racially profiled tonight.. whoever the lady is currently on duty tonight has made you guys lose a customer FOREVER. She told us we smelt like Marijuana and made us leave because of it. The sign says if the odor is present or lingers that they will keep the deposit, not that the guest(s) has to leave. She was very rude and wouldn’t let me or my friend even get a calm talking to her. I was very nice respectful and she kept yelling and talking over me. If you are considering staying here PLEASE don’t I spent 350 dollars just to be kicked out of my room On NO piece of paper at your front desk does it say that you have to leave. Maybe you should let people SEE THAT I’ve been in multiple hotels and done the same thing we did last night and NEVER once been kicked out.. I hope you guys read this review and disregard the owners response I’ve worked with whites all my life this lady racially profiled me and my friend I know it when I see it
